True Gentleman take two

I managed to have another play with these products, and created a much simpler card this time - way quicker to make, but still a lovely card to send I think.

Again, I've used a standard (NZ) card front, which is 14.9cm x 21cm, folded in half along the 10.5cm line.  This is in Night of Navy cardstock

The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper is 14.4cm x 5.25cm (approx), and then I stamped the sentiments in Night of Navy Ink on Whisper White cardstock.
I used the SNAIL adhesive - I find this so easy to use and as long as you keep it out of direct sunlight, I find it stays in place on cards just fine.

So there you have it - an incredibly easy card for the men in your life!

Sale-a-bration inspiration on Pinterest

It's really hot day here in Christchurch today, and I haven't had a chance to do any crafting as we're packing to go away for a week.  Then we took the children to our local outdoor pool and had a lovely time there - finished off with a fish 'n chip tea at the pool. It was the most delicious evening we've had in a while, and I'm not just talking about the food!

Here's some inspiration for you from Pinterest - these are all from the 2018 Sale-a-bration catalogue, and show you that there are heaps of things you can do with these products - you are limited only by your imagination!

Tailored Gentlemen

How often do you find yourself needing a card for a bloke, but finding you don't really have anything that will make more masculine cards?

Well - there's no excuse at the moment! Stampin' Up! have this gorgeous suite in their Occasions catalogue.  It's the True Gentleman suite, on pages 44 and 45 of the catalogue. Mine arrived today, and I just had to play with it.

My first card was this one - I have to say it took a lot longer to put together than I anticipated.

What I did was use the Tailored Tag punch to punch out the shapes above, and place them carefully on the card front. I wanted all the gaps to be approx the same size, and that's where I got a bit unstuck.  Still, I was basically happy with this one.

You can see the shape of the punch in the Whisper White Cardstock, and that's one of the stamps from the Truly Tailored stamp set.  You can get the stamp set and punch as a bundle, which will cost you less.

I started with a standard (NZ) size card in Night of Navy, then added the paper from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper. Next I added some of the new ribbon, Night of Navy 3/8" (1cm) Corduroy Ribbon, and finished off the the Whisper White cardstock stamped with Night of Navy Ink.

The Corduroy ribbon is quite thick, and I found the best result was when I used double dimensionals on the tag, to get the tag to adhere to the card without bending.

And that's all there was to it! This set has a lot going for it, and I plan to play with it some more.  I'll make sure to show you how I get on!

And now my second play with Party Pandas!

I've had a bit of a funny day today - as I went about my day, I found myself thinking about how I could improve on the card I made yesterday.

So here are two more versions of exactly the same card, except I think they work quite a lot better.

I decided that a stitched circle around the panda made more sense, as the balls completed the circle anyway.

I've used the same Designer Series Paper (Birthday Memories), and in fact the Pacific Point paper with dots on is the reverse of the gifts paper I used yesterday.

Quite literally the only other difference is that I used Old Olive Cardstock on the left hand card, as that is one of the colours of the dots.

I'm much happier to give either of these cards than I am yesterday's card.  And I love how you can make essentially the same card, but make it look completely different by changing a few of the elements.

My first play with Party Pandas

I've been watching these little cuties pop up on Facebook and on Pinterest. Frustratingly, I received them before Christmas, however today was The Day.  This stamp set (Party Pandas) is a Sale-a-bration set that you can only get by spending $110 on product.  Once you've done that though, this set is Free!

I finally took this stamp set and made a card with it.

This was another easy card to make - a standard size card base in Real Red, then I used the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, and cut a piece that was 5mm smaller on both height and width.

Next I stamped the panda from Party Pandas using Basic Black ink, onto Whisper White cardstock.  Next I used the Brights Enamel Shapes to be the juggling balls, and then I cut out the panda using Stitched Shapes framelits.

It would have been more sensible to have cut out the panda before I put the Enamel Shapes on, however it did still work that way.

I then stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut the banner by hand.

And that is all there was to it.

Please leave me a message to let me know you've enjoyed my blog!

It's a new year, so a new calendar is needed

I don't know about you, but I always like to have a calendar at hand.  Have a look at these cuties, they are so easy to make!

I made a whole bunch of these just after Christmas - some I gave out to those I work with at my 'other employment', and some I gave out as Customer Thank You's for those who ordered from me in December.

Although the photos show them as different sizes, that's due to my photographer, not the mini desk calendar. (I was the photographer by the way!).

I used any paper I had on hand - they are all current Stampin' Up! papers.  I coordinated the cardstock. That's the beauty of Stampin' Up! It all coordinates beautifully.

I'll even send you a Customer Thank You for ordering with me!
